BlackBerry 10 coming to Verizon on March 28, matches AT&T’s $200 price tag

BlackBerry Z10 VerizonNot to be left out of the fun, Verizon has announced when it’ll launch the BlackBerry Z10 in the U.S., just a few days after AT&T put the device up for pre-order with a March 22 release date. Verizon will start taking pre-orders for the phone on March 14, giving it a two-week window until the phone is properly released on March 28.

Verizon has slapped the same $200 price tag – but only if you sign up for a new two-year contract – as AT&T on its BlackBerry Z10, but does offer one particularly good reason to buy on from it instead of a rival – an exclusive white version of the phone. Verizon has used the white model on its BlackBerry Z10 splash page, and it looks very swish indeed. The BlackBerry Z10 can be purchased online or in one of Verizon’s retail stores.

The announcement includes confirmation the BlackBerry Q10, which is differentiated by it featuring a QWERTY keyboard, will arrive on the network in the future, but doesn’t provide a date. The Q10 is rumored to come to stores sometime after April or May, and will also be stocked by AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile.

On the subject of rival networks, Sprint won’t be stocking the BlackBerry Z10 – but it could be bringing a new touchscreen BlackBerry device out later this year – but T-Mobile will, so we can expect it to make an announcement soon. Previous rumors have indicated it also plans to put the Z10 on sale around March 27.

The BlackBerry Z10 will connect to Verizon’s 4G LTE network, and the phone features a 4.2-inch touchscreen with a 1280 x 786 pixel resolution, a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, and an 8-megapixel camera. You can read our review of the Z10 here.

Does Qualcomm's latest silicon give the OnePlus 13 enough of an edge, and has the smartphone maker put it to good use? Let's dig in and find out how these two measure up to each other.
