The top 3 iOS apps you don’t want to miss out on

With over a million apps in the iOS app store, it’s pretty difficult to find the best of the best. Often, the most excellent apps don’t get the recognition they deserve, leaving many people in the dark about them. While apps are mostly shared by word of mouth, it’s surprising how long it can take for the names and reputations of the little-known gems to travel.

In this episode of “Top 3” resident app connoisseur Joshua Smith shares what he believes to be the three iOS apps that you won’t want to miss out on. See what apps will allow you to view weekly ad flyers, purchase exclusive modern goods and leave annoying twitter applications behind in this quick video. You can now use an external webcam with Microsoft Teams on your iPad. Here’s how

For a lot of people, the iPad is the device they choose to work with, which may include taking video calls. Though the front-facing camera on iPads has gotten better over time, many still prefer external webcams because they’re often much better than the built-in webcam on your tablet or even laptop. And now, if you use Microsoft Teams on iPad, you’re finally able to use external cameras, as Microsoft has announced via a blog post.

When we say "finally," it’s because Apple has included support for external USB-C cameras on the iPad since iPadOS 17. So technically, Microsoft is a little late to the party with this feature. But if you have to use Microsoft Teams for work and you tend to use the iPad most of the time, then this is certainly welcome news.

The iPhone 18 may get a big redesign you won’t be able to see
The back of the Apple iPhone 16 Plus.

The design of the iPhone can only be described as iconic. That rectangular shape has been a major influence on phone aesthetics and design since the first iPhone came onto the market back in 2007, and that isn't likely to change. The internal design of the iPhone might radically shift, however. Apple is supposedly planning to change how the iPhone hardware is designed to accommodate better AI performance.

Essentially, Apple wants to use discrete memory rather than integrated memory. Those are technical terms that basically mean separate and together. On the internal system on a chip (SoC), any memory that is stacked on top is considered integrated memory. Discrete memory would be RAM that is packaged separately from the SoC. If reports are correct, Apple will begin using discrete memory in 2026, and the shift would result in faster memory and better AI performance, according to The Elec.

Using WhatsApp on an older iPhone? Then take note

An update to WhatsApp will reportedly end support for iPhone operating system versions prior to iOS 15.1, which Apple released in 2021. It means that anyone using WhatsApp on an iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, or iPhone 6 Plus will have to get a newer iPhone to continue using the messaging service, or ditch the app for another one.

The good news is that there’s plenty of time to decide upon a solution, as support for these older iPhones isn’t set to end until May 5, 2025, according to WABetaInfo, which first reported the development.
