The number of sales on Prime Day can be overwhelming. How do you know which tablet to buy when there are so many cheap tablets to choose from? With Prime Day 2020 winding down, there isn’t much more time to take advantage of Amazon’s deals. While there are deals on iPads today, what if you don’t want to spend over $200 on a tablet? The Fire HD 10 Tablet is a fraction of the iPad Mini’s cost and does many of the same things. Today, you can get the newest Fire Tablet for just $95 — that’s a savings of $70 — and it will keep up with all of your tasks just as well as the iPad Mini.

If you’re on the lookout for budget-friendly options, you can check out the Black Friday tablet deals.

The black Fire HD 10 Tablet on sale today for Prime Day has 32GB of memory, Wi-Fi, and the new 2.0 GHz octa-core processor with 2GB of RAM. The 10.1-inch display is 1080p Full HD, so your movies and photos will be displayed beautifully. The enhanced Wi-Fi allows you to play games, stream, and surf all at the same time without anything slowing down. With up to 12 hours of battery life, you can enjoy downloaded content on the go. Keep in mind that the iPad Mini only offers up to 1o hours of battery life.

The Fire HD 10 Tablet features Alexa and connects you to information and content with only your voice. It’s perfect for use in the kitchen when you need to check a recipe or answer a call with dirty hands. Simply say, “Alexa,” and the tablet will respond even when the screen is asleep. It also features Amazon Kids, which lets parents create profiles for their kids that set screen time, educational goals, and manage content — and it’s free on all Fire tablets.

With Amazon Prime Day coming to an end at midnight today, decision time is fast approaching if you are looking for a tablet to buy. For a fraction of the iPad Mini cost, the Fire HD 10 Tablet is an excellent option for a fast and functional device. Packed with technology and lightweight, this tablet is perfect for work on the go or leisurely activities.

5 tablets you should buy instead of the iPad Air (2024)
Two iPad Air models showing the screens.

Apple finally released some new iPads this year after going over a year without any updates. The iPad Air got a big refresh, now with an M2 chip inside and a new size -- 13 inches -- to go along with the regular 11-inch size from before.

The new iPad Air starts at $599 for the 11-inch Wi-Fi base model and increases depending on the size and configuration you choose. If you want the new 13-inch model, be prepared to spend at least $799.

Amazon’s kid-friendly Fire HD 10 tablets bring AI-powered games

Amazon launched a pair of new devices for its Fire Kids range at its fall event, including updated models of the Fire HD 10 Kids and Fire HD 10 Kids Pro. While there's little to write home about in terms of physical updates, these two new tablets have also been released alongside some new apps that make them great options to entertain the whole family, not just children.

The big draws here are the new apps and games on offer. Amazon's big, new drive involves implementing AI into its products, and these two Kids tablets are no exception. The new Music Maker app allows children to become composers by combining a number of different instruments and sound effects into their own composition, while being assisted by the app's AI.

I abandoned my iPad for an Android tablet and didn’t hate it
A person typing on a keyboard, connected to a Pixel Tablet.

Android tablets aren’t a patch on the Apple iPad, right? I mean, they don’t come close in app compatibility, performance, or versatility — making Android as an operating system good on phones, but disappointing on tablets. That’s the rule, and it’s one I have followed for some time.

At least, that was until I forced myself to live with and use the Google Pixel Tablet just like I do my iPad Pro. Would it change my mind? A bit, yes, but another Android tablet changed it more.
What does my tablet need to do?
