Assassin’s Creed Syndicate makes strong strides towards series’ redemption

Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed has been a series that had rave reviews when it first launched in 2007, but has substantially lost the favor of fans as the years have gone by, particularly with the buggy launch of Unity last year. Now two years since Black Flag, which many claim to be the franchise’s best work, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate looks to restore the names popularity. Set in the early 1800’s and featuring all new weapons, improved combat and two playable characters, will Syndicate have enough to put an old favorite back on top?

In this video avid gamer Joshua Smith goes hands-on with the new Assassin’s Creed and shares his first impressions after long nights of gameplay. See what’s new, what to expect and plenty more in just a few quick minutes. Zipping across London with the all new grapple gun and assassinating in improved fashion awaits, find out if you’ll want to join-in after watching this quick video.

Ubisoft's biggest upcoming game is arguably Assassin's Creed Shadows, which is set to release on November 15 across all the usual platforms, including PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. That also seems to include some unusual ones, too, including Mac.

While the official store page only mentions that the game will be available digitally on PC, a press release sent to Digital Trends features a few more details, including that the standard edition will release on Macs with Apple silicon on day one via the Mac App Store. However, players won't be able to buy more premium editions for the platform.
