Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire: Everything to know

Cyberpunk 2077 may be launching later than anticipated, but developer CD Projekt Red had some news to share on Thursday at its first “Night City Wire” livestream.

The event, which attracted more than 227,000 concurrent streamers, kicked off with a new trailer from the game’s prologue, complete with more f-bombs than you could count. It introduces the player to Jackie and explores six districts, as well as a seventh called Badlands. CD Projekt Red called Badlands a “dry place” that’s inhabited by nomads that travel around Night City and elsewhere.

A new metal creature was also featured in the trailer, called Adam Smasher, which is a “fully converted cyborg.” CD Projekt Red said there’s plenty more to know about Adam Smasher, but it won’t reveal any of those details until the game launches.

Next up, the developer made clear that players who buy the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One X will be able to get a free upgrade to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

CD Projekt Red also partnered with design house Studio Trigger and Netflix to launch a series called Cyberpunk Edgerunners, which will be available on the streaming service in 2022.

The show is a standalone story set in Night City with new characters and stories. It’s an anime show, so it will deliver a different look than the game. The developer didn’t share any details or screens from the show.

PS5 slim vs. PS5: everything you need to know about the new PS5 model

Sony consoles have always gotten multiple versions and editions ever since the original PlayStation 1. As technology becomes cheaper and more advanced, refreshed models that are both smaller and less expensive to produce typically come out a couple of years into a console's life cycle, and we have now hit that point for the PS5. The PS5 slim, as it is being referred to, is a smaller version of the launch models, and will eventually become the standard unit available to consumers once the stock of existing PS5s runs out. However, is this version worth getting if you're an existing owner, or is it only for new purchasers? There's also the question about which of the two versions to buy. To answer all these questions, let's compare the PS5 slim to the OG PS5.
Specs

Let's start with the most important part, which is whether or not there's more power under the hood of the PS5 slim compared to the launch models. No, the PS5 slim is not in any way more powerful than an existing PS5. This is not a PS5 Pro, which is currently just a rumor. Games will not look, run, or play any better or worse on either version. The only difference in terms of specs is that the slim versions have slightly more storage space at 1 TB compared to 825GB, which is just a small 175GB upgrade. There's nothing here that makes it worth buying a new system when you can expand the storage of your console yourself.
Size
Obviously, a slim model would mean that this new version would be smaller than the frankly comically large launch version. While that's true, it isn't a huge reduction in size. The PS5 Slim disc version weighs 3.2 kilograms (18% less that the original PS5) while the discless version weighs 2.6kg (24% less), and both are 30% smaller by volume.
Versions
Once again, you will have the option to choose between an all-digital and standard version of the PS5 Slim. However, unlike the original discless PS5, the new version will give you the option to add a disc drive later on if you purchase a separate detachable drive.
Price
The current PS5 models are priced at $400 and $500 for the digital and standard versions, respectively. While the PS5 slim standard version that includes the disc drive will remain at $500, the discless version will get a price increase to $450. This price increase had already been seen in other territories outside the U.S., but will now be introduced here once these new versions launch. It is also worth mentioning that the detachable disc drive you can get to upgrade your discless version will cost $80, meaning you would spend more to buy the digital version and add the drive than you would by simply buying the version with the drive already included.

Release date

Cities: Skylines 2 will be fully constructed and ready to play on October 24, 2023 for PC, however, the console versions of the game have been delayed to sometime in spring 2024.

All new weapons in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty DLC

CD Projekt Red is known for adding tons of content any time it releases an expansion to one of its games, and Phantom Liberty is certainly no exception. The biggest addition is obviously the entire new zone called Dogtown and the storyline it contains, but there are plenty of other additions that add even more reasons to take a trip back to Night City. Aside from the new Relic skill tree to experiment with, there are a handful of new guns you can get your hands on and test out against the improved enemy AI. These new guns are mixed in with all the rest, so if you're jumping back into the game after a while, you might not recognize them. Here are all the new weapons introduced in the Phantom Liberty expansion.

Grit - Auto Pistol
Looking like a smaller, yellow UZi, the Grit is a rapid-firing pistol with a huge clip.
Hercules - Special
The only special weapon introduced is the Hercules. Considering special weapons are always a treat to find, we'll leave this gun's function a secret for you to discover yourself.
Order - Shotgun
Looking like a Frankenstein's monster of a shotgun, the Order is an illegal double barrel that doesn't play around.
Osprey - Sniper
This sniper comes with a massive clip and bulky design that indicates just how much punch each shot will pack.
Rasetsu - Sniper
A more sleek sniper, the Rasetsu also can use a mounting attachment to pull off tough shots.
Thermal Katana - Melee
While you can't get a lightsaber in Phantom Liberty, this burning blade is the second-best thing.
Warden - SMG
Like the big brother of the Grit, this yellow SMG is also illegal and built for an insane rate of fire.
