ESPN 2.0 brings a new interface and new features to Xbox Live on August 25

ESPN was a cool addition to Xbox Live when it launched last year, but the range of features are admittedly limited in comparison to what you can get online or through your TV. That’s all going to change when the network launches ESPN 2.0 on Xbox Live, which was detailed in a new preview over at Gizmodo.

The revamped Xbox app launches on August 25, timed to coincide with the September start of the college football season. All of the content is funneled in from ESPN3, just like before, but the interface has been spruced up with a new look and new features. ESPN 2.0 will allow viewers to load up two HD streams of games and switch between them using remote/gamepad or Kinect voice controls. One of the provided examples suggests loading up the same game in two windows, using one to keep up with what’s happening in real-time and the other to access replays.

The user interface has been tweaked as well, with a new mini guide at the bottom of the screen containing thumbnail links to content and information about whatever game you happen to be watching, updated in real time. The screen will also be graced by a live scoreboard positioned at the right. You’ll only see college football scores when the update launches, but more are expected to arrive in short order.

Killing Floor 3 has been delayed to an "undecided date" later in 2025, but that might not be the worst news in the world. The Tripwire Interactive team announced the update via social media earlier today, saying they "missed the mark" with the game and need time to rework it.

"We're working together on a timeline to address many of the common issues players had during the beta, including performance/stability, UI/UX, lighting, and weapon feel," the team writes in a post on BlueSky.

The PC FPS market is stacked with popular and long-running games that make it hard for a newcomer to break through. FragPunk isn't your typical hero shooter, however. It features hundreds of Shard Cards that allow players to break the normal conventions of the genre, while still rewarding precise aim and skill. Because no two matches are ever the same, the only thing you can rely on is your Lancer. These heroes fall into one of several categories like Healing and Skill Damage, but there are already a few that have stood out as being far more powerful than the others. To help you get off on the right foot in FragPunk, here are the best Lancers to pick
Broker

Packing a rocket launcher for a primary weapon, Broker is not only deadly but easy for anyone to pick up and dominate with. In terms of abilities, you also get a second set of rockets that can knock enemies back in a pinch and a throwable cherry bomb that act as a proximity mine. As a defensive option, the smoke screen is invaluable for creating cover for yourself and your teammates.

The best hero shooters on PC
Two characters face off at close range in Apex Legends.

The best PC games come in all genres, but there's no doubt that FPS games on PC are especially popular. Counter-Strike 2 alone is constantly at the top of Steam's most played games list, overtaking even the most popular MMORPGs and free games. Within the larger FPS genre, hero shooters are especially beloved. These games combine some RPG elements by giving each character some unique traits and abilities to spice up the normal gunplay. While Overwatch popularized the genre almost a decade ago, tons of excellent hero shooters have come out since that refined and tweaked the formula in fantastic ways. Plus, with most being cross-platform games, you can even play against console players. These are the best hero shooters you can play today on PC.

Don't forget that there are plenty of upcoming PC games that might be the next big hero shooter.
