Halo Infinite’s new item pack nearly costs as much as Master Chief Collection

A new item bundle in Halo Infinite's shop has fans questioning Microsoft and 343 Industries' item pricing structure. The Mister Chief item set turns a classic Halo meme into an A.I., weapon charm, and set of sprays -- but it'll cost players $18.

The cosmetic set is a bit of an inside joke for Halo fans. It's based on a cartoon drawn by former Halo Community Manager Frank O'Connor in 2004. The crude drawing of Master Chief, dubbed Mister Chief, become a beloved gag for fans and popped up in several update posts about the series in the 2000s.

The Steam Summer sale has begun, bringing huge deals on several PC games. One of this year's headlining discounts is Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which is on sale for 50% off on Steam right now.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is a bundle that includes six classic halo games, including Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo 4, and Halo: Reach. The collection has been optimized for PC with 4K graphics and 60 frames per second. It faithfully preserves the single-player campaigns and multiplayer modes of each game. Online play is available for all games in the bundle.

Nintendo downplays CES’ convincing Nintendo Switch 2 leak

Following CES 2025, where accessory-maker Genki showed off a mock-up model of the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo is now debunking recent leaks about its still unrevealed console.

Gamers have been glued to nearly every Nintendo Switch 2 rumor that has emerged in recent weeks (and there have been a lot of them), but the most recent was a supposed mockup of the console on the CES 2025 show floor. Until then, Nintendo had kept mum about the leaks, but now the company has broken its silence and issued a statement.
