Mass Effect: Legendary Edition gets a price cut for the Steam Summer Sale

With the return of the Steam Summer Sale, players can get their hands on their favorite games on the PC at a fraction of their normal cost. One of the more major games on sale this year is the Mass Effect: Legendary Edition which is 17% off on Steam right now.

The Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is a collection of the Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3 that also includes over 40 DLC add-ons from the three games. Each game has been optimized for PC with 4K graphics and 60 frames per second. While each game has its original single-player intact, there is no multiplayer included in the collection.

This sale might be enticing for players who are interested in trying out these three iconic games for the first time, or for returning veterans of the series to play some of their favorite games once again.

EA recently announced that it is working on the next installment in the Mass Effect series, which brings us back to the Milky Way Galaxy where the first three games take place. Playing the Legendary Edition will refresh players on the backstory and lore of this franchise.

The Steam Summer sale runs until July 8, so fans have plenty of time to grab these three classics for $50.

You can get this fantastic PC game for $3 during the Steam Summer Sale
A city in Frostpunk.

We're in the midst of the Steam Summer Sale this year, and Valve is doing something a bit different this time by creating a Featured Deep Discounts section. It highlights some of the best games discounted by 90% or more. While this narrows things down, you may still have some choice paralysis while deciding among the games included this year. If you're a fan of PC city builders or games that force players to make difficult choices, I'd recommend snatching up Frostpunk for just $3, which is a 90% discount.

Released in 2018, developer 11 bit Studios describes Frostpunk as "the first society survival game." It takes place in a postapocalyptic world, but it's desolate in a different way than most of them. Rather than having the sandy barren wastelands of Mad Max or Fallout, Frostpunk's world has frozen over, and the biggest threat to humanity is generating enough heat to survive and rebuild. It's a game about rebuilding society in this snowy postapocalypse, but that's easier said than done.

The next Mass Effect gets a new teaser on N7 Day
A screen grab from the N7 Day 2023 Mass Effect teaser.

Update: BioWare still had another surprise up its sleeve for this N7 Day, with multiple countdown timers on its website slowly ending and revealing clips from a new teaser. They now all seem to be out, and the official Mass Effect YouTube channel has posted the full video titled "N7 Day 2023." In it, we see a character walking through a hangar. They then turn around, revealing a jacket with the N7 logo on it, but a helmet obscures their identity. They then take out a gun, walk out toward the alien planet, and the title card saying Mass Effect appears. Mike Gamble tweeted out the video, saying, "look closely." Check out the full video below, followed by the original article.
N7 Day 2023
It's November 7, 2023, which means it's also N7 Day, where EA and BioWare celebrate the Mass Effect series, which has a new game in development. While we didn't get any new art or another trailer this year, a message from Mike Gamble, Mass Effect franchise director and executive producer, does tease story elements for the next mainline Mass Effect game.
Specifically, he heavily teases the new Mass Effect game's connection to the original trilogy by going over many of the questions BioWare has had to ask itself during the game's development. The blog post includes a list of juicy questions that the next game may explore.
