So you know how there’s a fairly solid consensus that misogyny in video games is a rampant problem, and that objectifying women is bad for the industry? Don’t go looking to Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima for help.

On his Twitter feed (which was first spotted by CVG), Kojima stated that he has told Metal Gear environment and character designer Yoji Shinkawa to “make the character more erotic.” But hey, at least he’s doing it for the people, sort of. “The initial target is to make u want to do cosplay or its figurine to sell well.” Well, maybe not.

Kojima’s desire to cater to the cosplay fans is in some ways a noble move. Many cosplayers are gifted artists in their own right, and make the costumes themselves from scratch. Even the those that simply purchase outfits or just throw something together tend to be passionate fans, and are often the lifeblood of the industry. But let’s be clear, what Kojima is talking about is something like this:

Not exactly the cutting edge in military tech. Maybe the ripped up garters are bulletproof. Perhaps she is wearing ballistic underwear. Kojima then went on to note that he asked Shinkawa to erotic-up the character Quiet, the female sniper who will be revealed in full including background info on Friday. He also claimed that she may not even be cosplayable. Let that sink in for a minute.

Hideo Kojima NFT scare ends with physical collectible confirmation
Kojima's mascot, Luden's helmet close up.

With plenty of gaming companies going into the NFT market, fans are constantly on high alert to see which developer will embrace the controversial technology next. Yesterday, rumors that Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding creator Hideo Kojima was jumping into the non-fungible world blew up thanks to a tease from an NFT adjacent company, Anicorn. Turns out, it was all just for a physical collectible from Kojima Productions and Anicorn.

The original announcement led to a lot of concern among Hideo Kojima's fanbase. Anicorn makes physical products like watches but also creates NFTs. Because the first tweet teasing the collaboration was vague, replies to it were full of prayers that the project wouldn't be an NFT announcement or anything related to the metaverse.

How to get fire quartz in Stardew Valley
A player getting a mineral in Stardew Valley.

There are tons of common items and materials in Stardew Valley that don't require you to look up any tips or tricks to find. Things like regular quartz are almost impossible to miss, while things like Powdermelon and fire quartz aren't quite as easy to come by. The rarer the material, the more uses it has, which is the case for this red version of quartz called fire quartz. Despite how pretty they look, you probably won't want to give them away as gifts once you learn how to reliably find them.
How to find fire quartz

Like any mineral in Stardew Valley, fire quartz needs to be foraged out in the world rather than made yourself. The Mines are where you will need to spend your time searching, but only after you have explored far enough to reach floor 80 and beyond. After floor 80, fire quartz will start to appear for you to forage. Beyond finding it on its own, you can also find some inside of either Magam or Omni Geodes. Because it is fairly common to spot on its own, you shouldn't need to rely on looking for geodes to get enough.
