PlayStation 5 launch game Bugsnax will be free for PS Plus subscribers

Sony revealed its next round of free games for PS Plus subscribers. The list of titles coming to the service in November includes the upcoming PlayStation 5 launch title Bugsnax.

Bugsnax is a quirky indie game launching alongside the PlayStation 5 on November 12, which has been heavily featured in Sony’s recent live streams. PS Plus subscribers who own a PlayStation 5 can grab the game for free from November 12 to January 4. The freebie will not be available for PlayStation 4 owners.

Sony shared more details and a new trailer for the game alongside the announcement. The game will not support save transfers between PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 at launch, though Sony says it is looking into adding the function at a later date.

While that’s the biggest addition to the service, PS Plus subscribers are getting two other notable games next month. Players can grab 2017’s Middle-Earth: Shadow of War starting on November 3. On the same day, subscribers can add standout indie hit Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition to their library. Both games are available until November 30.

The announcement specifies that the titles are “PS4 games,” so it’s unclear if PlayStation 5 owners will be able to add them to their library when the console launches.

3 new PlayStation Plus games to play this weekend (February 21-23)
The four girls stand together in Lost Records: Bloom & Rage.

PlayStation Plus isn't as consistent as Game Pass in adding day one titles to the service, but when we do get them, they tend to be excellent. The last State of Play revealed some exciting upcoming PS5 games coming to Plus on day one in the future, alongside games like Saros which are much further out, but one of the month's most interesting games is already on the service. The rest of the lineup is nothing to sneeze at, either. From AAA games to the return of old favorites, we've got the perfect selection of games for you to dive into this weekend.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage - First Look Gameplay Trailer | PS5 Games

The next game from developer Don't Nod, the original creators of Life is Strange, is taking us back to the '90s. Split into two parts (the second scheduled to release on April 15), Lost Records: Bloom and Rage is another adventure game focused on a group of four girls split between the summer of 1995 and 27 years later after the friends had a falling out. Whatever secret caused them to break apart has brought them back together. Anyone with nostalgia for the '90s and a love for teen drama and mystery has nothing to lose giving this first chapter a shot. Thankfully the story is only split into two this time so you won't have to wait multiple months between parts to finish the story.

The best simulation games on PS5
Gran Turismo 7 played with a steering wheel.

Technically speaking, all games are simulations. Most just tend to be very unrealistic. Even the best open-world games or best survival games take a ton of liberty in smoothing over a lot of the things we would normally think were mundane. The simulation genre not only embraces the fine details but makes mastering them the entire experience. There are plenty of meme games that make fun of simulators, but the ones that take themselves seriously end up being some of the best PS5 games you can play. Whether you love simulators already or are looking for some good places to start, here are all the best simulation games on PS5.

The third and fourth chapters of Deltarune are still on the way
One of the main characters from Deltarune Chapter 1.

Toby Fox, the mind behind the acclaimed Undertale, announced late yesterday evening that Deltarune chapters three and four are still on the way, but there's still a lot of work to be done. In a post on BlueSky, Fox said he is "still console testing" and though he's found fewer bugs than before, there are still plenty to correct — and he hasn't even started testing on the PlayStation 5 yet.

This update comes a month after professional bug testing began for the fourth chapter of the game on PC. Two weeks ago, Fox said he has to implement and test trophies on PlayStation, as they're a requirement for the game to be released on the platform.
