Metal: Hellsinger headlines Xbox Game Pass’ September lineup

A new month means new games are on the way to Xbox Game Pass for cloud, console, and PC. As always, the new catalog of incoming games includes multiple titles, but the easy highlight of September’s group is Metal: Hellsinger, a new first-person shooter that turns Doom into a rhythm game.

Metal: Hellsinger was originally announced two years ago by its developer Funcom. The game takes players to a hellish world reminiscent of something one would see in the new Bethesda Doom titles. Hellsinger‘s high-octane and heavy-movement gameplay are similar to those games as well. The twist here is that players have to shoot, move, and eradicate the forces of hell to the beat of a hellacious heavy metal soundtrack composed for the game.

Other than that, it’s a lighter start to the month for Game Pass. The Animal Crossing-like Disney Dreamlight Valley is available on the service as of today, but the rest of the list is comprised of curious indie games. Here’s the complete list of games coming to Xbox Game Pass.

Xbox may soon be testing the ability to let you stream games you own over Cloud Streaming, instead of limiting you to just titles available in Xbox Game Pass.

The Verge's Tom Warren reports that the functionality is a part of Project Lapland, and will be coming to the Xbox Insider program in November. Barring any problems, it'll release to more users after that. Based on previous statements, it'll likely only be available to Ultimate subscribers.

In September alone, Age of Mythology: Retold and Ara: History Untold have made their way into Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, while Overwatch 2 started to give a ton of benefits to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. This is bound to only continue ramping up in the coming months as games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 release and more back catalog Activision games come to the service. Simply put, there's going to be a lot to enjoy on Xbox Game Pass. Overwatch 2

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers should connect their account to Battle.net because a lot of perks for subscribers came to the free-to-play hero shooter Overwatch 2 earlier this month. Cardboard Reinhardt, Turtleship D.Va, Cyberdragon Hanzo, Street Runner Genji, Bee Mercy, and Cleric Lifeweaver skins, as well as 30 Mythic Prisms, can be permanently redeemed before November 11. A rotating collection of other cosmetics and a 10% XP boost are available indefinitely to Xbox Game Pass subscribers. You can access these perks across any platforms that Overwatch 2 is on, including PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch.

Xbox Game Pass’ next Blizzard additions are StarCraft’s single-player campaigns

The next Blizzard games to hit Xbox Game Pass are two real-time strategy (RTS) classics. Xbox announced during its Tokyo Game Show 2024 presentation that StarCraft: Remastered and StarCraft 2: Campaign Collection will be available on PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate very soon.

The reveal was delivered by Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer, who appeared on the virtual stage in a StarCraft T-shirt. Spencer delivered a series of quick announcements before capping off his appearance by stating that the two games will hit Game Pass on November 5.
