The Emperor will not tolerate a late Space Marine. Sure, it’s been over 10 years since the first Space Marine, but that just means you shouldn’t waste even a second more than necessary before jumping into Space Marine 2. Now focused heavily on co-op play, you and two of your friends will need to prepare to face overwhelming Tyranids. You will be armed with the best weapons and armor in the galaxy, but none of that will matter if you are stuck waiting for the game to download. As we approach the release of one of the most anticipated upcoming games of the fall, here’s what you need to know about Space Marine 2‘s release time, file size, and more.

Space Marine 2 will release at 9 a.m. PT/noon ET September 9. You can refer to the above map to find your specific time zone.

Space Marine 2 file size

Space Marine 2 will be a decent-sized game, but not as big of a hog as other games like Call of Duty. It is will be 54GB on the PlayStation 5 and just a bit bigger on Xbox at 58GB.

There are two preload dates depending on which edition of Space Marine 2 you have preordered.

If you have the standard edition, you can start preloading on September 7.

For anyone who got the Gold, Ultra, or Collector’s edition, preloads will start on September 3.

There are four Space Marine 2 editions you can preorder now with varying prices and extras for you to consider. Any edition above the Standard will get you four days of early access to the game. Here’s a quick breakdown of each of them:

This grueling city builder will build upon the stress and difficulty of keeping your little colony alive through a worldwide volcanic winter. You will take on the role of "The Steward," who is tasked with making all the difficult choices in leading the people of New London. Between population, food, and political problems, you will have your hands full at every moment, but the first task on your agenda needs to be making sure you're ready for the game's launch. Here's all the preload information you need to be ready for Frostpunk 2.

The official release date for Frostpunk 2 is September 20, however, anyone who preorders the Deluxe Edition was able to get three days of early access and start managing their cities on September 17. If you have the Deluxe edition, see the above map for when you can start early access.

When the Emperor calls on you to face down the endless onslaught of Tyranid forces, he doesn't expect you to go alone. Sure, you are a nearly unkillable Space Marine, but even you will need backup on this mission in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. The campaign isn't all that long, though it's more than bloody enough to be satisfying. And replaying missions with friends or jumping into the Operations mode keeps the violence coming. If you fancy yourself a particularly deadly marine, you can even go into PvP.

Clearly, this game was not meant to be played alone, especially not if you want all the Trophies and Achievements — but does it make the list of all cross-platform games?

Hopefully your chainswords haven't gotten rusty, Space Marines, because the Emperor has called you back into duty with Space Marine 2. This campaign will put you and your squad to the test against overwhelming odds, but if your faith is strong enough, you can overcome and emerge victorious. However, once you've reached the conclusion and seen the credits role, there's still more to be done before you've achieved the ultimate victory. Trophies and Achievements will give you plenty of reasons to revisit missions and test out all the other modes the game has to offer. You will have to do all the dirty work yourself, but we can at least tell you all the Trophies and Achievements you have ahead of you.

Note: Some of the Trophy and Achievement descriptions will spoil minor parts of the game.
