A Women’s Day Sale, spearheaded by indie game funding organization Wings Interactive, is currently taking place on Steam. Until March 10, a wealth of games starring and made by women are seeing some significant discounts. From mind-bending puzzle games to vibrant action titles, this sale is full of fantastic indies worth a look during Women’s History Month. Here are seven highlights to check out if you’re looking to grab some great games for cheap.

Call of the Sea

Raw Fury

Call of the Sea is a fantastic first-person puzzle game set in the 1930s about a woman trying to find her husband on a remote Pacific island. This game from developer Out of the Blue is a vibrant adventure full of clever puzzles, and it’s supported by a stunning central performance from Cissy Jones, who you may recognize as Andreja in Starfield. Call of the Sea is discounted by 60% for this Women’s Day Sale. While it usually costs $20, you can snag it right now for $8. A deluxe edition bundle with its soundtrack and art book is also available for $9.25.

Tinykin

Splashteam / tinybuild

Although Pikmin 4 came and went in 2023, you can play Splashteam and tinybuild’s Tinykin to recapture some of that magic. Playing more like a puzzle platformer than a real-time strategy game, Tinykin plays with scale in entertaining ways throughout its well-designed levels. Commanding a horde of the titular Tinykin creatures gives the game a different feel than many of its platformer contemporaries. Tinykin is available at a 55% discounted price of $11.24 on Steam. Like Call of the Sea, ythere’s a bundle that includes an art book and soundtrack for $17.

Furi

The Game Bakers

Few things in video games are as satisfying as overcoming a great boss fight, and The Game Bakers’ Furi is full of them. Part bullet-hell and part intense hack-and-slash action game, Furi is one of the best boss rush games out there. It’s full of style, it’s surprisingly challenging, and it’s very rewarding to master. Typically priced at $20, Furi is discounted by 60% to $8 for this Women’s Day Sale. If you want Furi’s Onnamusha DLC as well, a bundle including that costs $9.76 instead of $26.98 right now.

Signalis

rose-engine / Humble Games

Fans of survival horror will want to use this sales event to pick up Signalis, an isometric horror game about a Replika android searching for their partner on an abandoned spaceship. Developer Rose-engine’s first outing has an indie retro feel compared to most mainstream horror games, but lots of spooky moments and a captivating story about grief make it an unforgettable experience. While it’s only discounted by 30% — from $20 to $14 — Signalis is more than worthy of your time at that price point.

Unpacking

Humble Games

If you’ve ever had to move, Witch Beam’s Unpacking will strike an emotional note with you. On the surface, it’s a simple puzzle game about unpacking boxes and decorating rooms. If you look deeper, it’s also a game that will make you think about growing up, moving on, and reflecting on the past as you head toward the future. Unpacking is available for 50% off during this Women’s Day Sale, down to $10 from its standard $20 price.

En Garde!

Fireplace Games

En Garde! from Fireplace Games may have flown under the radar in 2023 because it released right in-between games like Baldur’s Gate 3 and Starfield, but it’s a fun little swashbuckling action game. It stands out thanks to its colorful art style and a lot of little touches, like all the different ways players can interact with the environment and deal with enemies during fights. If that sounds entertaining to you, then En Garde! is available for $10 during this Women’s Day Sale. That’s 50% off its normal price of $20.

Mini Motorways

Dinosaur Polo Club

Dinosaur Polo Club’s Mini Motorways is a game I find myself getting back to. There’s something calming about its ASMR-like audio design and its tense gameplay loop that sees players building roads and managing traffic flow in an ever-growing city. It’s minimalist, but Mini Motorways typically has my undivided attention whenever I play it. I recommend picking it up at a 15% discount during this sale, which will get you the game for just $8.49.

Our most anticipated video games of 2025: GTA 6, Metroid Prime 4, and more
Samus Aran poses in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.

On a personal note, 2024 was one of my favorite years for video games in recent memory. It may not have been filled with giant franchise sequels, but it was loaded with surprises that made for an eclectic year. If all goes according to plan, that's going to change in 2025. And that's something I didn't even realize until I sat down to write this list of Digital Trends' most anticipated games of 2025.

While only a handful of big games have release dates currently, publishers have some major releases slated to release at some point in 2025. That's, of course, headlined by Grand Theft Auto 6, but there's so much beyond that (so long as delays don't derail plans). And this is all before factoring in the Nintendo Switch 2's impending launch, which will undoubtedly fill the year with some top-tier games that are currently a deep secret. It's difficult to narrow a "most anticipated" list down to just 10 games this year, but I've done my best here. These are the games that should be on your radar in 2025 -- at minimum!

3 Xbox Game Pass games you should play this weekend (January 3-5)
Key art for Doom Eternal

While questions still surround Xbox's multiplatform strategy as we head into 2025, we know it at least has a healthy number of first-party exclusives on the way. Classic series like Doom and Fable will be coming back with new games, while Obsidian Entertainment will deliver two choice-driven RPGs before the year ends. As we're in a bit of a lull when it comes to new Xbox Game Pass games right now, I'll recommend that subscribers to Microsoft's gaming subscription service check out games related to Xbox's biggest 2025 games this weekend.
Doom Eternal
Doom: Eternal - E3 2018 Trailer

Doom: The Dark Ages will be released sometime this year, continuing the modern Doom series with a new first-person shooter full of medieval flair. As such, it makes sense to check out the other Doom titles on Game Pass. While every game in the series (except the VR one) is available through Game Pass, I'd recommend Doom Eternal, the most recent new game in the series. Released in 2020, Doom Eternal continues to build on the foundation established by the 2016 reboot. It features hardcore action, but also makes each shootout feel like a puzzle that needs to be solved, as players must find the best ways to shoot enemies, execute them to get some ammo back, and stay healthy. It's one of my favorite FPS games in recent memory, and it will get you hyped for the series' return later this year.

3 PS Plus games you should play this weekend (January 3-5)
Key art for Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut.

While 2025 has just begun, we already know about some of the biggest games coming to the PlayStation 5 this year. Ghost of Yotei, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, and Grand Theft Auto VI, in particular, stand out as potential defining PS5 releases for 2025 right now. Luckily for those of us who subscribed to PlayStation Plus Extra, the predecessors to all three of those games are available to play as part of the Sony game subscription service's catalog. As such, those games make up my list of recommendations for new PS Plus Extra games to play to kick off the new year.
Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut
Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut - Announcement Trailer | PS5, PS4

Sucker Punch Productions will release Ghost of Yotei later this year, giving us yet another open-world action-adventure game set in Japan. While it isn't a direct sequel, I still think it's a good idea to check out Ghost of Tsushima before playing Ghost of Yotei. Sucker Punch Productions' last game instantly cemented Ghost as a new hallmark series for Sony; the enhanced Director's Cut version of the game is still one of the best-looking titles that you can play on PS5. And while I'm not quite as fond of the story and gameplay compared to other games, if you enjoy games like Assassin's Creed Mirage or Red Dead Redemption 2, then Ghost of Tsushima's realistic open world will really immerse you. After playing Ghost of Tsushima, you'll have a better understanding of the foundation that Ghost of Yotei will be building on and will more clearly see how it evolves and improves upon that formula.
