Ecovacs Deebot 601 with App Control

— $190 off

The Deebot 601 senses floor surfaces and when it detects a hard floor, the robotic vacuum employs an optimized path for the most efficient and thorough cleaning. The smart vac can also tell when it encounters extra dirt or debris on hard floor and carpet that requires more suction power; when deeper cleaning is needed the Deebot 601 automatically switches to Max Mode for up to twice the Suction power.

Ecovacs’ 3-stage process uses two edge brushes and a V-shaped main brush to sweet, lift, and vacuum synchronously for efficient one-pass cleaning. The Deebot 601’s low-profile design, just under 4 inches high, allows the robot to move under furniture to clean dirt, dust, and debris that usually escapes regular cleaning.

Ecovacs refers to the Deebot 601 as”pet-friendly” for two reasons. The vacuum not only vacuums up pet hair, but it also operates with a low sound level so it won’t disturb pets with unsettling noises.

The Deebot 601 includes an infrared remote, which gives you four ways to control the robot vacuum. You can schedule the Deebot 601 to clean at specified days and times and choose from auto, one-room, and spot-cleaning modes with the remote or the Ecovacs mobile app.

You can also use the app, the remote, and Alexa or Google Assistant voice commands to stop, start, or send the robot vacuum back to its charging station. Ecovacs rates the Deebot 601 for up to 110 minutes of vacuuming per charge. Extensive use of Max Mode diminishes the running time. When the robot vacuum senses its battery power is running low, it automatically returns to the charging station.

The Deebot 601 senses objects in its path and falls (such as from stairs or room level changes), so it won’t damage your walls or furniture or injure itself.

Normally priced at $380, the Ecovacs Deebot 601 is half price or $190 only during this one-day sale. If you want an advanced robotic vacuum that you can control with a smartphone app or with either of the predominant smart home digital voice assistants, this is a great opportunity to take advantage of an awesome price.

The iRobot Roomba Combo 10 Max might be the best robot vacuum for carpet
The Roomba Combo 10 Max lifting its mop.

iRobot is gearing up to launch a new robot vacuum, with the Roomba Combo 10 Max arriving in August. The robot makes big upgrades to its docking station, as it can automatically refill, wash, and dry the mopping pad -- making this the first multifunctional dock from iRobot. Best of all, it keeps its predecessors' swinging mop arm design, making it ideal for homes with both carpet and hard floors.

While much of the competition has offered self-cleaning docks for years (including Ecovacs and Roborock), this is a first for Roomba. After a cleaning cycle, the robot vacuum will return to its dock to refill its water tank and recharge its battery. It'll also get its mopping pad washed with water and dried with circulated air, preventing the buildup of mold and odors. You'll even have the option to run a manual self-clean and receive notifications if a deeper clean (or maintenance) is required.

Do you need a regular vacuum if you have a robot vacuum?
The Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra connected to plumbing.

Robot vacuums are a great addition to any home. The best products on the market are capable of vacuuming and mopping without any manual input, giving you an easy way to automate your floor-cleaning needs. Some will even empty their dustbins and wash their mops -- making them shockingly autonomous. But should you still own a regular vacuum if you have a robot vacuum? After all, robot vacuums aren't cheap, and owning both types of products might seem superfluous and expensive.

Unfortunately, robot vacuums are not yet at the point where they can clean your entire home, making it important for all families to hold on to a regular vacuum. Here's a closer look at robot vacuums and why they're not a complete replacement for your upright or cordless vacuum.

This new robot vacuum competes with rivals nearly twice its price
The Yeedi C12 Pro Plus in its dock.

Ecovacs is a popular name in the world of robot vacuums, but its lineup is often remarkably expensive. The X2 Combo, for example, costs $1,600. However, the company has a sub-brand named Yeedi that offers more affordable products, and its new Yeedi C12 Pro Plus looks like a great alternative for frugal shoppers.

The Yeedi C12 Pro Plus is currently available for just $350 ahead of its June 1 launch, though its regular $600 price tag is leagues better than the $1,600 X2 Combo or $1,900 Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. But despite the lower price tag, Yeedi packed the C12 Pro Plus with impressive features. The robot produces up to 8,000Pa of suction, uses dual comb teeth and an updated roller brush to limit tangles, and runs for up to 300 minutes before needing to recharge at its docking station. Once vacuuming is done, it'll automatically empty its dustbin.
