Samsung’s One UI 7, currently limited to devices launched in 2025, will reach more devices very soon. The update Android 15-based update will start rolling out to older devices in April, starting with the Galaxy S24 series on April 10. While the initial set of phones and tablets eligible for the One UI 7 update only includes flagships, affordable phones won’t be far behind.

As Samsung prioritizes on making stable One UI 7 available on its flagship Galaxy S, Z Fold, Z Flip, and Tab S lineups, it is also likely to begin testing the update on a non-flagship phone from last year. Dedicated pages in the One UI 7 beta forums have recently gone live for Galaxy A55, indicating it might be the first in line when Samsung broadens its release.

Tipster Tarun Vats, who spotted the new forums, also suggested One UI 7 beta for Galaxy A55 will likely be limited to India and South Korea. The forums do not indicate the exact date of the update’s release, though we expect it shouldn’t take many days to go live.

When Samsung kicks off the One UI 7 beta program for Galaxy A55, those who own the phone will be able to apply to test the update within the Samsung Member app.

The availability of a beta is a good sign that the stable One UI update for Galaxy A55 — and hopefully other A series devices — should not take long. After months of delaying the update, and testing several rounds of beta with the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung now appears to have ironed out the issues and is readying a release next month.

Besides the Galaxy S24, One UI beta is available for Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and Galaxy S23, all of which are scheduled to receive a stable update in April. If Samsung follows a similar pace with the Galaxy A55, we could expect the phone to get a stable release in May.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 could get an Ultra upgrade
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6's camera.

Samsung's Galaxy S25 series has now been around for a couple of months, and its most recent additions to its Galaxy A series were also introduced just before Mobile World Congress at the beginning of March. That means all eyes are turning to the company's folding phones and the latest report suggests there could be a long overdue update for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in the pipeline.

According to GalaxyClub, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 could come with a higher resolution main sensor than we have seen previously from the range. It's suggested that the flagship folding device will borrow from the Galaxy S25 Ultra by offering the same 200-megapixel main sensor, which would be quite a significant resolution increase on the Galaxy Z Fold 6's 50-megapixel offering.

Samsung announced it would be opening up the One UI 7.0 Beta Program for its Galaxy S23 series a couple of weeks ago and in what is great news for the Galaxy S23 owners among you, that day has now arrived (in some regions anyway).

The South Korean company has released the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 beta update in India and Korea for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and the Galaxy S23 Ultra, with other markets expected to follow.

Samsung Galaxy S25 could get a major software overhaul sooner than expected

Earlier this week, a known tipster suggested Samsung might skip straight from One UI 7 to One UI 8, citing the delays that have plagued the current version of the software. Today, the first versions of One UI 8 were spotted on an internal test server. This isn't an indication One UI 8 will release any time soon, but it does indicate development has started at least two months earlier than expected.

One UI 7 has been in beta testing in December and has come to only a select few devices so far. Samsung did confirm the stable build of One UI 7 should launch in April and that more devices are being added to the beta program, including foldable phones. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 have begun to receive the update, too, allowing them to finally join the Android 15 party.
