Surprisingly, the iPhone 12 Mini isn’t selling as well as expected

It looks like the iPhone 12 Mini may not be selling as well as hoped or expected. Customers and reviewers alike have been asking Apple for smaller iPhones for years, but according to a supply analyst from JP Morgan, Apple is preparing to stop producing the iPhone 12 Mini due to weak demand.

Now, this doesn’t mean that the iPhone 12 Mini will  cease being available for purchase any time soon. The device is still a current-generation phone, and you should expect to be able to buy it at least until the iPhone 13 series is available. Instead, it just means that Apple thinks it has produced enough iPhone 12 Mini units to keep up with future demand.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard whispers of the iPhone 12 Mini not doing so well. According to market research firm Consumer Intelligence Research Partners, the iPhone 12 Mini accounted for only 6% of iPhone sales in October and November. Trusted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo confirmed this, saying that the iPhone 12 Mini has not met expected demand.

We’re actually relatively surprised that the iPhone 12 Mini doesn’t appear to be selling all that well. Not only is the iPhone 12 Mini the solution for people who want a small, easily pocketable device, but it’s also the cheapest iPhone in the iPhone 12 series, making it a great choice for those who want the latest iPhone without having to shell out $1,000 for the iPhone 12 Pro. According to analysts, however, it seems as though the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max have outperformed expectations. Thankfully, there are other small-sized phones.

We’ll have to wait and see exactly what the iPhone 13 series ends up looking like. Apple likely planned the series out long before it announced the iPhone 12, and as a result, we may still see an iPhone 13 Mini. Rumors suggest Apple will launch four models in the iPhone 13 series. However, if the “Mini” iPhone continues to undersell, it’s entirely possible, and even likely, that Apple will eventually stop making them.

I briefly tested the iPhone 16e camera and it surprised me
The camera on the iPhone 16e

It’s time to buy a new iPhone, and the camera isn’t that important to you, but you’d love to still take great photos on those special occasions. Chances are that if this is you, you’ll likely be considering the iPhone 16 Pro thanks to its three-camera setup.

However, considering that the camera may not be as important as battery life, you may also be considering the new iPhone 16e. However, when looking at it, you realize there’s only one camera. In 2025? Really? Yes, it’s a 48MP Fusion main camera that offers 2x telephoto zoom, but surely, more cameras will be better.

I started using the iPhone 16e and it’s better than I expected
The camera on the iPhone 16e

Yesterday marked a crucial moment for Apple as it launched the iPhone 16e around the world. Every iPhone launch is important, but the iPhone 16e is particularly important for a few reasons.

It’s the evolution of the Apple iPhone SE lineup, and like its spiritual ancestors, the iPhone 16e features a more affordable yet cutback version of the rest of the lineup. Unlike its ancestors, it also features several trademarks of the iPhone experience, including Face ID, an OLED display, and the latest-generation processor.

The iPhone 16e is here now, but is it the iPhone you should buy?
Hand holding iPhone 16e.

It’s decision time, folks. After much hype since it was announced, the iPhone 16e is now available in stores. The phone, which is now Apple’s budget phone, has a lot of great things going for it, assuming you fall into Apple’s demographic for the handset. And yet, if you plan on purchasing a new iPhone right now, there’s possibly a better phone you should buy instead, the iPhone 14.

After Apple announced the iPhone 16e, it became clear that it shares more similarities with the iPhone 14 than with the iPhone SE 3, which many initially believed the rumored “iPhone SE 4” would replace. The iPhone 16e may turn out to be a much better device overall. Consequently, it’s not surprising that the introduction of the iPhone 16e has led to the discontinuation of both the iPhone SE 3 and the iPhone 14.
