Apple takes control over iPhone porn domain names

apple iporn largeIf you have been trying to visit an Apple iPhone website, but keep getting sent to porn sites Apple has good news for you. Apple is now the proud owner of seven domain names that make use of the term “iPhone” and various porn references. The eight domains in questions redirect mobile users to a porn website.

Here is the full list of the domains in question:

iphonecamforce.com

iphonecam4s.com

iphoneporn4s.com

iphonesex4s.com

iphonexxxforce.com

iphone4s.com

porn4iphones.com

While six of those domain names sound like porn websites, the one that stands out is of course iPhone4s.com. It wouldn’t be a complete surprise if someone typed in “porn4iphones.com” and found a porn site located there. It would be a shock if someone typed in “iPhone4s.com” it would be a shock to find porn at that site.

Apple filed a complaint to the World Intellectual Property Forum against the former owner of the seven domain names. Apple terminated the case against the owner after it turned over the domain names, there is no information about if there was any cash changing hands in this change over.

At the time of writing this story the domains in question are still being redirected to the porn site when being viewed on a mobile browser. Steve Jobs famously made a point that if someone wants to look at porn they should use and Android device, so having all these iPhone domains linked to porn have to be a little unsettling for Apple.

We imagine that most of the links will forever be dead, but it seems likely that Apple might make use of the iphone4s.com domain for something in the future. Once those links go dead and you want to view some porn on your iOS device you will have to stick with Playboy.

An Apple Maps bug is showing airport baggage claims when zoomed out
Apple Maps on the Apple iPhone 16 Plus.

For some users, Apple Maps is displaying a strange bug: It's showing airport baggage claim carousels when zoomed out. The issue first appeared later in the day on Sunday when users took to Reddit asking how to disable the baggage carousel icons. It's a useful feature if you're navigating a new airport for the first time, but if you're running up the street for coffee? Not so much.

There doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason behind the bug. Some users report it, and others don't. In testing, I couldn't see any carousels on any of my Apple devices. Users report the carousel icons appear when zoomed out far enough that you only see state abbreviations and capital cities. The bug doesn't show every airport, either; the ones that appear are sporadic and spread out.

It looks even more likely the iPhone Fold will release in 2026
Concept render of a foldable iPhone.

Mark Gurman has once more suggested a 2026 release window for the rumored iPhone Fold, adding his own not-insignificant influence to the cascade of other analysts saying the same thing. In his Sunday morning newsletter for Bloomberg, Gurman said he expects the foldable to arrive "next year."

This lines up with predictions made by trusted analyst Jeff Pu. It certainly seems like the rumored device isn't likely to hit shelves anytime soon, and when it does, it could carry the highest price point of any iPhone to date at $2,300.

iPhone 17 might finally fix Apple’s stingy ways with display upgrades
The Apple iPhone 16 Plus's home screen.

Social media is currently flooded with all kinds of rumors and concept renders purportedly depicting the upcoming iPhone 17 series. A few reliable insiders have also backed the claims of a fresh design. However, there’s another upgrade situation that will matter to users on a day-to-day basis.
According to Bloomberg, the baseline iPhone 17 model could finally get a high refresh rate aka ProMotion display. “The device is likely to get some small enhancements to its rear camera, as well as a ProMotion display, which allows for smoother scrolling and animation,” says the report.
If you’ve been following the competing Android ecosystem, high refresh rate screens are no longer a talking point. Even budget phones that cost as little as $200 will serve you a 90Hz or 120Hz panel. In the Apple ecosystem, you will have to spend at least a thousand dollars to experience that perk on an iPhone, or an iPad.
