3 iPhone apps to help you create incredible Instagram photos

With more than 300 million people on Instagram, it can be difficult to stand out from the pack. While iOS offers decent photo-editing options for your pics, it hardly offers the options necessary to take your photos and posts to the next level.

In this video Joshua Smith, an avid iOS user, provides a sneak peek into his own iPhone and the process he uses when editing photos for his favorite social networks: VSCOcam, Instasize, and Enlighten. Simply tapping a single filter and posting is a thing of the past with these easy to use yet feature-heavy apps on your side.

iPhone 17 Air’s incredible thinness ‘showcased’ in comparison photo
A mockup of the Apple iPhone 17 Air next to the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Are you interested in seeing just how thin the rumored Apple iPhone 17 Air is going to be? An interesting image has been shared that appears to show Apple’s next big thing next to the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max, and the difference between them is stark. If you’re not familiar with the 16 Pro Max, it measures 8.25mm thick, the same as the standard iPhone 16 Pro. In the photo, it appears the iPhone 17 Air is about half its thickness.

The two images originate from known mobile news leaker Majin Bu on X, but there’s no source beyond this. It appears they are stills from a video too, meaning more examples may be ready to share in the near future, something Bu had already teased. If the iPhone 17 Air is half as thick as the iPhone 16 Pro Max at around 5mm, it will be thinner than Samsung’s rival Galaxy S25 Edge, which is rumored to be around 5.8mm thick.

Priority Notifications on an iPhone’s Lock Screen

”Priority notifications appear at the top of the stack, letting you know what to pay attention to at a glance,” says Apple. The company doesn’t offer any technical detail on how exactly the onboard AI decides which notifications are important and surfaces them.

Own an Android? It looks like you may buy an iPhone next
The iPhone 16 Pro and the Galaxy S25 Plus held in the hand together

In a recent survey of iPhone owners, 48% of those now wielding Apple’s smartphone had previously owned an Android phone. The data comes from an extensive report using information gathered from 4,000 individuals by analysts at Counterpoint Research, and shows despite the challenges those who switch from Android to iOS (or vice versa) often face, it didn’t put almost half of current iPhone owners off.

The research then states it’s Samsung and Google suffering the most when someone decides it’s time to buy an iPhone, to the point the paper warns Samsung may see a marked fall in S-series ownership over the next two years if the trend continues. It’s added that Samsung, along with brands like OnePlus and China’s market leader Vivo, are using AI and flagship specifications to differentiate devices, in an effort to entice and retain buyers.
