Are you ready to extend your perception of the color brown? That’s exactly what Motorola promises will happen when you lay your eyes on the new color option for the Motorola Razr Plus 2024, now available in the 2025 Pantone Color of the Year. In addition to the Razr Plus 2024, the rich mocha is also available for the Motorola Edge 50 neo in markets where it is available.

“Mocha Mousse reinforces the importance of savoring the moment—a reminder to indulge in life’s simple pleasures. Mocha Mousse also inspired us to create a new soft inlay composed of coffee grounds. Its warm and comforting essence embodied the sensory nature of this shade,” said Ruben Castano, VP of customer experience and design at Motorola.

Maybe some of that is lost on me, but I can’t deny the appeal of this color. The warm hues of the color are almost soothing to look at. It’s a rich, deep brown color that really is quite striking.

Brown isn’t exactly a common color choice for a phone (or anything besides belts and shoes, really). Manufacturers tend to opt for futuristic, neutral tones like silver, black, and white, or they go for bright colors like the Koala Grey, Beach Sand, and Spritz Orange options currently available for the Razr 2024. Apple, Samsung, and the other major players in the market should be willing to experiment with colors a bit more.

You could always protect your phone with a case, but if you’re going to shell out a little extra to try a unique color, make sure the case is clear.

Mocha Mousse will be available for the Razr Plus 2024 soon. If you’re interested, you can register to order it on Motorola’s website.

Remember Moto AI? Motorola finally has an update on it
A person taking a photo with the Motorola Razr 2024.

When Motorola launched the Razr Plus 2024 this year, it also mentioned some of its own AI-powered tools, appropriately named Moto AI. However, we’ve only seen Moto AI through a couple of image-generation tools like Magic Canvas and Style Sync. Now, Motorola has just announced at Lenovo Tech World 2024 that more Moto AI tools are coming, at least in beta form.

Motorola discussed some Moto AI features earlier this year, including Catch Me Up and Remember This. The Catch Me Up feature lets you get a prioritized summary of your notifications so you don’t have to scroll through a bunch of missed notifications. There is also Pay Attention, which helps users recall instructions or details without having to write notes or listen to long recordings. Remember This captures live moments or onscreen information when activated and saves it while providing AI-powered insights.

Motorola might be making a foldable unlike any we’ve seen before
A side view of the Motorola Razr Plus 2024, showing the phone half-folded.

What do tiny motors, shape-shifting metal, and powerful sensors all have in common? They're part of a potential Motorola foldable phone. Foldable phones are nothing new, but their design and capabilities have come a long way since the days of the original flip phone. And now, 91Mobiles spotted a patent filing from Motorola that suggests an interesting design unlike anything we've seen before.

According to 91mobiles, the patent is titled "Autonomous form factor control of a foldable mobile device."  Don't worry, you won't be tested on that. It basically boils down to a phone that can adjust its hinge position to help keep the user in the center of the frame, similar to Apple's Center Stage feature — except this is controlled through hardware, not software.
