The rumor mill is churning with exciting news about OnePlus’ upcoming midrange contender, the OnePlus 13R. According to Digital Chat Station, leaked information suggests this phone could pack a serious punch thanks to a powerful all-new Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset and a massive 6,000 mAh battery for all-day endurance.

The new phone could also offer a 1.5K flat display. Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the rumored camera setup featuring a Sony IMX906 primary sensor and a 50MP telephoto lens for capturing detailed zoom shots.

Android Authority first noted that the new report doesn’t mention the OnePlus 13R by name. Instead, it’s likely talking about the company’s next Ace device. However, that lineup is only released in China and rebranded for global markets. For example, the Ace 2 became the OnePlus 11R, while the Ace 3 became the highly-rated OnePlus 12R.

One point of contention for Android Authority regarding the phone discussed by Digital Chat Station is the chipset. While the leak mentions the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, it says the phone might include the slightly less powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 to reduce costs — at least in areas outside of China.

Where could OnePlus release a phone worldwide with Qualcomm’s next chip? The long-rumored OnePlus 13. The company’s next flagship phone should offer a 6.82-inch BOE X2 display with 2K resolution. It may also support 100-watt wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

With an expected announcement very soon, the OnePlus 13 and 13R are poised to make waves in the smartphone world. Their predecessors, the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R, remain top contenders in the market, setting a high bar for these upcoming releases. Both phones are anticipated to be available worldwide before the end of the year or early January.

Several new features are being rolled out for OnePlus 12 users as part of the OxygenOS 15.0.0.701 update, which is based on Android 15.

This update, which includes the March 2025 security patch, primarily focuses on enhanced customization for the home screen. Users can now resize app folders to either 1x2 or 2x1 dimensions. Additionally, the dock can accommodate five apps when the home screen is set to display four apps per row. OnePlus 12 users will also enjoy improved music player controls for Spotify within the Live Alerts feature.

OnePlus 13 Mini tipped to have bigger battery than OnePlus 13
A person using the Threads app on the OnePlus 13.

The OnePlus 13 Mini (or 13T, depending on the naming scheme) could end up with a larger battery than its flagship cousin, according to leaker Digital Chat Station. According to the tipster, the OnePlus 13 Mini will have a 6,200mAh battery versus the OnePlus 13's 6,000mAh battery.

Considering the smaller size of the OnePlus 13 Mini, a larger battery capacity is impressive enough. Throw in the fact that it will have a 6.3-inch display instead of the 6.8-inch display of the OnePlus 13, and its power demands should drop by a large margin.

Oppo smartwatch may lead to the small OnePlus Watch 3 we’re craving
A promotional image showing the Oppo Watch X2 Mini.

One of the few downsides of the excellent OnePlus Watch 3 is that it only comes in a single case size, but if an Oppo smartwatch release in China is anything to go by, the company may now be in a position to change that. The Oppo Watch X2 Mini has been given an official April 10 launch date and is available for pre-order in China, and it may be the template for a OnePlus Watch 3 Mini.

Before we talk about the smartwatch, here’s some context. Oppo and OnePlus entered into a strategic partnership in 2021, with the two brands effectively sharing research, development, software, and even camera partners. While the two release separate and suitably different products, there are many similarities. The OnePlus Watch 3 just happens to have an Oppo sibling called the Oppo Watch X2, and the pair are practically identical.
