OnePlus launching Nord N10 5G, N100 in Europe, North America at enticing prices

The midrange phone market is seriously heating up, and European and U.S. buyers will soon have two more options to consider: The OnePlus Nord N10 5G and the OnePlus Nord N100. The new devices represent OnePlus’ mission to offer premium features at a lower price, and will eventually be much more widely available than the original OnePlus Nord.

Both of these phones are now available in Europe and the U.K. OnePlus says they’ll be coming to North America at some point, but it has yet to announce a date.

The OnePlus Nord N10 5G is the more high-end of the two devices, offering a slew of features that would normally be reserved for much more expensive phones. The device has a 6.49-inch 90Hz display, OnePlus’ Warp Charge, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage — all in a phone that costs 329 British pounds ($429).

Powering it all is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 chipset, which is about on par for a phone in this price range. There are slightly more powerful phones for around the same price. though, like the Google Pixel 4a, which has a Snapdragon 730G.

The design of the phone looks pretty solid, with a hole-punch cutout for the front-facing camera, a fingerprint sensor on the back, and a sleek and stylish look.

Of course, as the name suggests, you’ll also get 5G support. Now, we still don’t recommend buying a phone just for 5G, but it’s definitely an added bonus, especially for those who plan on keeping their phones for at least a couple years.

The camera is shaping up to be solid, too. There’s a quad-camera system, which offers a 64-megapixel main lens and dedicated macro and monochrome lenses. On the front, there’s a 16MP main sensor.

The OnePlus Nord N100 is the cheaper of the two devices, offering even better value for the money. The device costs 179 British pounds ($233), but still offers 4GB of RAM, 64GB, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 processor.

On the front of the device, you’ll get a 6.52-inch display. Powering it all is a 5,000mAh battery that can be charged with 18-watt fast charging. Despite its super-low price tag, the device still has a very modern design, with a hole-punch cutout for the front-facing camera, and a triple-lens camera on the back. There’s also a fingerprint sensor on the back.

Neither of the two phones beat the original OnePlus Nord, which has a Snapdragon 765G processor, up to a hefty 12GB of RAM, and more. They do look a little more modern, thanks to the rectangular camera bump on the back, but looks alone aren’t worth buying a phone. If you have access to the original OnePlus Nord, and can afford it, we still recommend going for it. But if you can’t quite afford the standard Nord, these phones offer a compelling alternative at a lower cost.

OnePlus 10T colors: Should you get the phone in black or green?
Renders of the OnePlus 10T and black and green. They're at angles and surrounded by sand.

The OnePlus 10T is official with extra-fast charging capabilities, a non-alert slider design, and Hasselblad branding-less cameras. The device still offers excellent performance with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. While the internals sound over the top, it's pretty typical for OnePlus's usual 'never settle' fashion.

But flashy specs aren't the only thing that the OnePlus 10T brings to the table. It also comes in a couple of color variants so folks can show their personality with their smartphone.
All colors available for the OnePlus 10T
The OnePlus 10T follows the same unified design language as the OnePlus 10 Pro. This means the camera module unifies with the edge of the smartphone -- much like the Galaxy S21 Ultra. It comes with a unibody rear glass cover made with "industry-leading technology," at least according to OnePlus.

OnePlus 10T screen.

Following up on the OnePlus 10 Pro, OnePlus has finally announced the OnePlus 10T. It's a follow-up to the OnePlus 10 Pro and a cheaper model of what turned out to be a well-received phone. For folks who didn't like the Oppo-ification of OnePlus, there is no reprieve here from that yet. OnePlus takes further steps, including ditching the alert sider and keeping the divisive OxygenOS 12 software. But if those things don't bother you, the 10T is an interesting choice in a market not devoid of handsets to choose from.

Here's everything you need to know about it!

OnePlus is breathing new life into its more affordable T series smartphone lineup this week with the new OnePlus 10T, scheduled to officially launch on August 3 with a big event in New York that will unveil the much-rumored handset. It should also confirm many of the specs we've heard about for a while already.

However, despite all the rumors, there are still aspects of the new phone that are shrouded in mystery. As such, OnePlus almost certainly has a surprise or two up its sleeve for Wednesday's event, which will also include the unveiling of OxygenOS 13 -- a significant update that many OnePlus fans are hoping will clean up the mess that is OxygenOS 12. It remains to be seen whether that will happen, but it should add even more anticipation for Wednesday's launch event.
