Buy one Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge, and T-Mobile will give you another one for free

The launch of Samsung’s new smartphones has been met with quite a bit of fanfare already, and now, T-Mobile is just bringing more fun to the party. Beginning Thursday, the Un-carrier is offering customers a buy-one-get-one-free deal with the purchase of either the Samsung Galaxy S7 or the Galaxy S7 Edge.

The S7 is being offered for $0 down and $28 a month for 24 months, while the S7 Edge will cost you $60 at first blush and $30 per month for 24 months, but you won’t have to pay a penny for the second one you buy. And if you were one of the eager beavers who pre-ordered a Samsung phone, don’t worry — Anyone who has purchased or will purchase during pre-order is also eligible for a free second device.

Whereas other companies translate “free” as “bill credits to be granted over the course of your commitment to us,” T-Mobile insists that it’ll be reimbursing buyers for the full amount of the phone. “We’ll give you a prepaid debit card instead of $23 monthly bill credits over two and a half years,” a spokesperson tells us, so it really is like money in your pocket, not money you’ve already sunk into the company. To sweeten the deal even further, the Un-carrier is also offering a family of four three lines of unlimited LTE data for just $50 a line and giving away the fourth line (you guessed it) for free.

And because T-Mobile is now operating like a late-night infomercial, there’s more! If you’re based in New York, starting Thursday at 9 a.m. ET, you can check out T-Mobile’s new Times Square Signature store for a 360 degree immersive virtual reality experience, featuring the Samsung Gear VR and your new Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge. Even if you’re not in the Big Apple, you don’t have to miss out on the big event. T-Mobile promises that customers in other cities can visit their local T-Mobile stores on Friday to get their own VR experience.

To really get the new Samsung phones flying off the shelves, T-Mobile is giving customers a Samsung VR, a six game Oculus bundle, and a free year of Netflix with their S7 purchase. As per usual, T-Mobile will cover your switching costs, up to $650 a line.

Finally, the Samsung Gear S2 Classic arrives in stores at the same time, so you can get it along wth your Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge for less than $17 a month for 24 months. You can find all the details here.

Why the dullest Galaxy S25 model is the one you should buy
The back of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus.

After reviewing the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, I went straight into using the Galaxy S25 Plus. I welcomed the chance to use the phone I singled out as the pick of the bunch after my hands-on time, and wanted to see if my instincts had been correct. I'm glad to say they were, but I wasn’t expecting to find the phone a bit dull. But this isn’t going to be a hit piece. I like it because it’s boring.
Boring doesn’t have to mean bad

My review Galaxy S25 Plus is in the attractive navy color, which isn’t too bright, but more attractive than the simple black model. Understated, I’ll call it. As I thought, the edge of the chassis is less sharp than the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and suits the way I hold and use the phone better, making it less fatiguing. It’s slim and light, so I haven’t had any problem carrying it around in my pocket either.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge video leak gives me hope and despair
Alleged leaked image of Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.

Samsung will officially make a return to the realm of ultra-slim phones in the coming months with the Galaxy S25 Edge. So far, the company has only given us a distant glimpse of the upcoming phone, but has remained mum on its innards or market arrival timeline.

Well, an apparently working unit of the Galaxy S25 Edge briefly appeared in a leaked video this week, parading its svelte profile from all sides. In the short clip, the phone is compared against the Galaxy Z Fold 6, and we also get a look at its supposed innards via the AIDA64 app running on the phone.

Another One UI 7 beta has landed much sooner than we expected
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra's screen.

Samsung's plans to release the Android 15 update to older devices have been deferred by unforeseen issues. While the brand is braving to fix those before releasing a stable version, another subsequent One UI beta has dropped -- and, it's the second one this week.

Just days after releasing the One UI 7 beta 4, Samsung is sending out yet another beta update for the Galaxy S24 series. YouTuber and blogger Jeff Springer received the update and shared the relatively small changelog in a post on X.
