Amazon offers a large library of movies, but it can be exceedingly difficult to find the best family movies on Amazon Prime Video. Amazon’s interface is clunky, and the family-friendly library is decidedly sparse. There are a bunch of very kid-focused originals, but finding something the whole family can agree on can often be a struggle.
We’ve attempted to make it easier for you by curating the list each month and identifying the best options. Read on for the best family movies on Amazon Prime Video right now.
Looking for even more family films? We’ve also put together lists of the best family movies on Netflix, the best family movies on Hulu, and the best family movies on Disney+. The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023)
But when Luigi is sucked down a mysterious pipe, he winds up in a magical new world, imprisoned by the terrifying Bowser (Jack Black). As Mario follows to find him, he lands in the Mushroom Kingdom, where he meets the strong-willed Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy). To get Luigi back, Mario will have to tap into his special power and fend off Bowser’s army.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022)
Antonio Banderas returns as the cavalier cat in this Shrek spinoff. Realizing he is nearing the end of his nine lives, Puss in Boots embarks on a journey into the Black Forest to find the mythical Wishing Star to restore his lost lives.
But with just a single life remaining, he will have to practice caution and team up with his former nemesis, Kitty Soft Paws (Salma Hayek Pinault). As they set into the woods, they must stay one step ahead of fairy tale creatures, including Goldilocks and the Three Bears Crime Family, “Big” Jack Horner, and The Big Bad Wolf.
Red One (2024)
The most expensive Christmas movie of all-time was a massive box office flop and hasn’t exactly earned rave reviews. Red One is PG-13, so we almost didn’t include it on this list, but as the biggest Christmas movie ever, it feels like it gets some special consideration.
After Santa Claus (code name: Red One) is kidnapped by anti-Christmas villains, Callum Drift (Dwayne Johnson), head of the North Pole’s E.L.F. security force, jumps into action. But first, he needs to find where Santa has been taken. To do that, he enlists the help of world-famous tracker and Santa skeptic, Jack O’Malley (Chris Evans). Traveling across the world and facing down abominable snowmen, the unlikely pair must overcome their differences to save Christmas.
