James Bond is poised to enter the DC Universe. According to Deadline, Daniel Craig is circling the lead role in the DC Studios movie Sgt. Rock for director Luca Guadagnino.

Craig and Guadagnino have not signed deals with DC Studios as Sgt. Rock remains in the early stages of development. It’s a reunion for Craig and Guadagnino, who collaborated on A24’s Queer, which opens later this year. Challengers and Queer scribe Justin Kuritzkes is writing the Sgt. Rock screenplay.

Robert Kanigher and Joe Kubert created Sgt. Franklin John Rock, a character who first appeared in the 1959 DC Comics issue Our Army at War No. 83. Rock is a WWII infantry soldier known for his elite marksmanship, pinpoint accuracy, and advanced combat skills. Sgt. Rock became an ally to many superheroes. There is no word on which issue or issues will provide the basis for Sgt. Rock.

Guadagnino recently signed on to direct Lionsgate’s American Psycho reboot, which was believed to be his next project. Now, Guadagnino will likely direct Sgt. Rock before American Psycho

DCU’s film division opens with Gunn’s Superman starring David Corenswet as the titular hero. Superman soars into theaters on July 11, 2025.

The only other movie on DC’s release calendar is Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. From director Craig Gillespie, Supergirl opens on June 26, 2026.

John Krasinski and Natalie Portman embark on a globe-trotting adventure in the trailer for Fountain of Youth.
"One story. Five continents. Dozens of cultures over thousands of years," Krasinski's Luke Purdue states in the trailer. Luke is on a mission to find the Fountain of Youth, a mythical spring that supposedly restores the youth of anyone who drinks or bathes in its waters. To locate this hidden wonder, Luke needs help from his estranged sister, Charlotte (Portman). Despite her skepticism, Charlotte is intrigued enough to join her brother in this seemingly impossible hunt.
"So you really think you're going to find a magic pool of water at the end of this?" Charlotte sarcastically says to her brother, to which Luke replies, "I don't know, but I think you want to find out."

Fountain of Youth also stars Eiza González, Domhnall Gleeson, Arian Moayed, Laz Alonso, Carmen Ejogo, and Stanley Tucci.

Asajj Ventress, Cad Bane headline Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld trailer
Bounty hunters pose for Tales of the Underworld.

First, Tales of the Jedi explored the stories of Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku. Then, Tales of the Empire portrayed the adventures of Morgan Elsbeth and Barriss Offee. Now, follow Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane in Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld.

Disney+ and Lucasfilm released the trailer for Tales of the Underworld, the third installment in the Tales anthology series. This season spotlights two bounty hunters: Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane.
Ventress has been on both sides of the spectrum, having been a Jedi Padawan and an assassin for Count Dooku. Ventress always wanted to be a Sith and fought against many Jedi during the Clone Wars, including Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. After Dooku tried to kill her, Ventress escaped and reunited with the Nightsister clan to execute a plan for revenge. In the series, Ventress is a bounty hunter forced on the run without affiliation to the Sith or Jedi.
Bane is one of the top bounty hunters during the Clone Wars. Bane is a ruthless creature with a quick trigger who can shoot himself out of any situation. Bane must go toe-to-toe with a former friend who works as a marshal.
Someone tells Bane, "This revenge, I hope it was worth it," to which the bounty hunter replies, "It will be."
