It’s been almost a decade since Netflix first debuted Daredevil, and in those years, a lot has happened in the Marvel universe. Now, we know exactly when that show’s sequel series, Daredevil: Born Again, will hit Disney+: March 3, 2025.

The news was announced at New York Comic Con, where show stars Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio made a surprise appearance. During the panel, which was titled Marvel Fanfare With CB Cebulski, they also premiered a sneak preview of the series.

The official synopsis for the show explains: “Matt Murdock (Cox), a blind lawyer with heightened abilities, is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk (D’Onofrio) pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.”

Many of the cast from the original Netflix series are back for this new iteration. Besides Cox and D’Onofrio, the show is also bringing back Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, and Wilson Bethel as Poindexter. The show is also introducing several new actors to its cast, including Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, Jeremy Earl and Ayelet Zurer, who will be playing the role of Vanessa Marianna-Fisk, played by Sandrine Holt in the original series.

The Netflix series concluded its run in 2018, but in more recent years, both D’Onofrio and Cox have returned to the Marvel universe as if Marvel was trying to prove that it had not abandoned the Netflix universe it built once upon a time.

How to update your new Disney+ parental controls
The Defenders look at the camera in an elevator in The Defenders.

You may have heard that the Marvel TV shows that were formerly at home on Netflix have all come to Disney+ this week. There's just one hitch for the most family-friendly streaming service: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, and The Punisher are all TV-MA. And let's just say that they feature characters doing some very un-Disney-like things to each other. Sex and violence reach near R-rated levels, which is part of the appeal of these shows. That said, some parents may have legitimate concerns about what their children watch. Fortunately, we're here to help!

Disney foresaw some of these potential problems when it introduced its new Disney+ parental controls. It's also why Disney+ is automatically asking users to update their parental preferences when they log into the site. Keep in mind that the default setting is TV-14. If you don't opt to update any of your settings or if you click Not Now, then nothing will change. However, this is also your easiest opportunity to put the setting on TV-MA for everything that Disney+ has to offer. And make no mistake, these Marvel shows will probably not be the last mature content to be added in the future.

Marvel’s former Netflix shows are moving to Disney+ in March
The cast of The Defenders.

In 2015, Daredevil marked the beginning of a multiyear pact between Marvel TV and Netflix that brought it and five additional original series to the popular streamer. However, Netflix canceled all six shows in late 2018 and 2019 ahead of the launch of Disney's competing streaming service, Disney+. Last month, Netflix confirmed that its Marvel shows would leave at the beginning of March. Now, they have a new home on Disney+.

Disney, which owns Marvel, has officially announced that Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, and The Defenders will make their Disney+ premiere on March 16 in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. The ABC-produced series Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will return to Disney+ on the same day.

Marvel’s Eternals will premiere on Disney+ in January
The cast of Marvel's The Eternals.

After numerous pandemic-related delays, Marvel Studios' Eternals finally hit theaters at the beginning of November. Fortunately, Marvel fans won't have to wait as long for the film to make its streaming debut on Disney+. Earlier today, Marvel Studios announced that Eternals will hit Disney+ on January 12, 2022. It will be available for all Disney+ subscribers in both its standard ratio and the IMAX Enhanced aspect ratio.

The characters of Eternals were created in 1976 by artist and writer, Jack Kirby. Over a decade earlier, Kirby was one of the primary architects of the Marvel Universe -- he co-created the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Ant-Man, Thor, the Avengers, Iron Man, the X-Men, Black Panther, and more.
