Everything coming to Amazon Freevee in July 2023

All the evil exes snarl in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
Universal Pictures

Summer is finally here, and everyone is still feeling the crunch of inflation in their pocketbooks. With subscription prices for streaming services on the rise, it can be hard to find quality entertainment at a fair price. YouTube has some free movies, but in general, major streamers like Netflix and Apple TV+ require a fee to access their digital treasures.

Amazon, however, is different. Yes, it costs money to subscribe to Prime Video, but the company also has another, less pricey option. For consumers who don’t want to pay the Prime rate for movies and TV shows, it offers an alternative: Freevee, an ad-supported option that has a plethora of top-tier movies and shows, including action movies like Knight and Day with Tom Cruise, modern TV shows like The Good Wife, comedies like Superbad, and awesome movies like Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Like any other streaming service, titles come and go, so keep reading to find out everything coming to Amazon Freevee in July 2023.

Everything coming to Netflix in January 2025
Two people run in Back in Action.

Is it that time of year already? A new beginning is just around the corner, and for many, it's a time of resolutions, of weight lost and gained, and of promises made and broken. For Netflix, it's just another month packed with quality movies, TV shows, and games.

In January 2025, the streamer will launch several high-profile projects, including a Harlan Coben mystery series, Missing You, Cameron Diaz's comeback movie, Back in Action, season 2 of the action series The Recruit, a new Wallace & Gromit movie, and the new Western series American Primeval. There's also some non-Netflix-produced stuff as well, including all seasons of Younger, the first three Spider-Man films, and the debut of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.

If you have to watch one Amazon Prime Video movie in December 2024, stream this one
Tom Hanks in Road to Perdition.

If you're looking for holiday merriment this month, you should check out the best Christmas movies on Amazon Prime Video. When it came time to pick the one Amazon Prime Video that you have to watch in December, however, we decided to go with something decidedly less cheery. Our selection for December 2024 is Road to Perdition, a 2002 crime drama directed by Sam Mendes (Skyfall) from a script by David Self.

The movie is based on the 1998 graphic novel Road to Perdition by Max Allan Collins and artist Richard Piers Rayner. Despite having a future Superman in the cast, it's completely unlike most comic book movies. Road to Perdition arrived in theaters during the same era as American Splendor and Ghost World, two other unconventional comics that would be hard-pressed to get their own movies in the franchise-obsessed Hollywood of 2024. While Road to Perdition has come and gone from Prime Video several times before, it deserves the spotlight this month because the film still isn't widely regarded as the modern classic that it is.
