Godzilla’s international trailer features more destruction and more creatures

The upcoming Godzilla will feature creatures other than Godzilla, and the new trailer gives us our first solid look at one of the creatures. If you weren’t excited for the film before, and the addition of multiple creatures doesn’t do it for you, then consider letting joy into your heart for a change.

The franchise reboot from director Gareth Edwards has already suggested that it would feature multiple monsters, but this teaser shows the first completely clear shot of a creature not named Godzilla, at around the 1:18 mark. The inclusion of the nightmare-sized insect isn’t in itself surprising, though. It has been hinted at before, and the official statement for the film reads:

An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.

The film also stars Bryan Cranston as a nuclear physicist whose assertions that monsters are roaming the world is ignored. He is joined by his soldier son Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Johnson’s wife. Fun/creepy fact: Johnson and Olsen will next appear together in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but as brother and sister rather than husband and wife. Sorry for that image.

Godzilla hits theaters on May 16.

Update: The article has been updated to correct an error that identified the monster as Mothra. The creature actually looks more like Rodan from the old Toho movies, but it may end up being be an original monster due in part to legal reasons.

Creature Commandos trailer introduces James Gunn’s DC Universe and a fan-favorite Batman villain
Doctor Phosphorus, The Bride, and Nina Mazursky walk together in Creature Commandos.

A new DC Universe is on its way, and comic book fans have finally gotten their first substantial look at it. The multimedia franchise isn't set to kick things off with one of its flagship heroes like Batman, Superman, or Wonder Woman, either. Instead, the DCU's first official entry belongs to an oddball mix of monsters known as the Creature Commandos. Created and written by James Gunn, Creature Commandos promises to bridge the gap between 2021's The Suicide Squad, 2022's Peacemaker, and the DCU's future.

Now, over a year after Gunn announced Creature Commandos, the animated series' first official trailer has debuted online. The teaser, which runs over 2 minutes long, efficiently introduces several of Creature Commandos' core characters, including The Bride (Indira Varma), Nina Mazursky (Zoë Chao), G.I. Robot (Sean Gunn), Weasel (also Sean Gunn), and Doctor Phosphorus (Alan Tudyk).

Instead this streamer has been pushing out amazing new shows like Ted Lasso, For All Mankind, Silo, and Foundation. There's even access to Major League Baseball and Major League Soccer for sports fans.

With no ads, Apple TV+ has cemented itself as one of the best streaming services out there, and has amassed an estimated 25 million subscribers over the last five years. It's estimated, because the company has a penchant for offering free promotional subscriptions to those who buy a new Apple device like an iPhone or MacBook.
