March Madness 2025: NCAA Tournament Second Round schedule, time, how to watch

National Collegiate Athletic Association

The first round of the NCAA Tournament is in the books. There was some madness. No. 12 McNeese won their first game in NCAA Tournament history when they shocked No. 5 Clemson. No. 12 Colorado State also completed the upset in their victory over No. 5 Memphis. No. 11 Drake looked like they could make a run to the second weekend. Other than those three upsets, the first round went as expected.

Here’s the secret to March Madness. If the top seeds advance, the likelihood of having better games in the later rounds is high. Upsets are cool, but the goal is to have the best teams playing on the second weekend. The results on Saturday and Sunday will go a long way in determining if this will be a great or subpar tournament.

Before VPNs, using streaming services while abroad could be rather difficult. Now, it’s much easier thanks to VPNs. With a VPN, you can connect to another server, like one in the U.S., to alleviate streaming regulations and broadcast restrictions. Plus, VPNs add more security and privacy. Our top recommendation is NordVPN because of its speed, accessibility, and affordability.

Florida State vs. Notre Dame: How to watch, results, and highlights
Hannah Hidalgo stands on the court for Notre Dame.

It's a battle of the nation's top scorers as Ta’Niya Latson and the No. 24 Florida State Seminoles (22-6) battle Hannah Hidalgo and the No. 3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (24-3). Latson and Hidalgo average 26.2 and 24.7 points per game, respectively. This will be the only regular-season matchup between the Seminoles and the Irish.
The Seminoles are playing their best basketball of the season, having won three straight. With Latson lighting up the scoreboard, Florida State is a team that could be dangerous come March. On the other sideline, the Irish lost to NC State in double overtime this past weekend. It was Notre Dame's first loss since November 30. The loss might be a blessing in disguise.
Thursday's game could be a preview of an ACC Tournament semifinal matchup. Find out how to watch the game featuring the Seminoles and Fighting Irish, including the start time, channel, and streaming options. For more coverage, check out our NCAA women's basketball March to the Madness.

Conference play is almost done, but a few regular-season games remain. Aneesah Morrow and the No. 7 LSU Tigers (27-2) hit the road to play Sarah Ashlee Barke and the No. 20 Alabama Crimson Tide (22-6). This will be the only meeting between the two rivals in the regular season.
After losing to Texas on February 16, the LSU Tigers have won two consecutive games, including Sunday's game against Kentucky. LSU's Morrow, Flau'Jae Johnson, and Mikaylah Williams might be the best trio in the country. Alabama also has a three-headed monster in Barke, Zaay Green, and Aaliyah Nye. The Crimson Tide enters Thursday's game having won five of their last six games.

Vanderbilt vs. Texas A&M: How to watch, results, and highlights
A gorup of basketball players stretch on the court.

The competition in the SEC remains the best in the NCAA. There is always a good game against potential tournament teams every night. One of Wednesday's top games features the Vanderbilt Commodores (18-9) hitting the road to play the No. 12 Texas A&M Aggies (20-7). Barring collapses from both teams, Vanderbilt and Texas A&M should be playing in March Madness.
The Commodores began the season with a dream start of 16-4. Since February 1, Vanderbilt is 2-5, with losses against Oklahoma, Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Besides Oklahoma, those four teams are the best in the SEC. A&M also finds themselves in a rut, losing two straight, including Saturday's loss to Tennessee. The Aggies still have plenty of chances to improve their resume with games against Vanderbilt, Florida, and Auburn.
Can the Commodores pick up their first win in College Station since 2017? Find out how to watch the game between Vanderbilt and Texas A&M. Read our NCAA men's basketball March to the Madness guide for more coverage.
