Escobar returns: ‘Narcos’ confirmed for Seasons 3 and 4 on Netflix

The drug-fueled drama of Narcos will continue for at least another two seasons.

Netflix announced this week that the critically praised series will return for a third and fourth season on the streaming video service, with executive producers José Padilha (Elite Squad) and Eric Newman (Children of Men) continuing to shepherd the gritty show chronicling the early days of America’s war against the drug trade of the 1980s.

Set and filmed in Colombia, Narcos stars Elite Squad actor Wagner Moura as Pablo Escobar, one of the most infamous cocaine kingpins of the era. Moura is joined in the cast by Boyd Holbrook (Gone Girl) and Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones) as DEA agents Steve Murphy and Javier Peña, respectively, a pair of real-life agents who were tasked with bringing down Escobar in the ’80s.

The first season of Narcos was released on Netflix in August 2015, with the second 10-episode season premiering just a few days ago.

The series has already been nominated for a Writers Guild of America Award and multiple Golden Globe Awards (including a “Best Actor — Television Series Drama” nomination for Moura) for its first season.

The first two seasons of Narcos are available to watch now on Netflix, and can be screened in Ultra HD 4K. There’s no official word yet on when the third season of Narcos will debut on Netflix.

Reacher stands on the street and looks to the left.

Alan Ritchson's Jack Reacher may have met his match in the official teaser for Reacher season 3.

"I've been waiting for this moment for some time now," Reacher says in the opening moments of the teaser. What Reacher doesn't expect is a fight against Paulie (Olivier Richters), officially known as Paul Masserella, a giant bodyguard who delivers a deadly slap to the titular hero's face. Based on Lee Child's novel Persuader, season 3 follows Reacher's investigation into a vast criminal enterprise while trying to rescue an undercover DEA informant. "There,  he finds a world of secrecy and violence — and confronts some unfinished business from his own past," Amazon's synopsis reads.
