The RF-1 is a versatile cycling computer equipped with LED lights and a video camera

Whether you’re a serious cyclist or an amateur rider, the technical advancements in cycling computers have made them desirable bike accessories. GPS navigation allows you to explore further and longer, while data collection allows for tracking improvements from ride to ride. Many riders also require bike lights for early morning or late-night excursions and video cameras that allow them to record their rides in real time — all of which combined can make for some seriously crowded handlebars. Refractor Fitness is designing a product that can serve all three purposes — the RF-1 cycling computer.

The RF-1 is a comprehensive cycling computer built on the Android platform with efficient software that is easy to use, update, and will allow for the use of third-party apps in an anticipated future release. The computer features a 3-inch, color sunlight-visible screen with multitouch capability. The RF-1 camera is full HD 1080p, allowing you to record your rides or use it as a real-time dashcam. Even in dashcam mode, the device continuously records the last 20 minutes of every ride — so you’ll never miss a meaningful moment.

This cycling computer features powerful GPS and GLONASS navigation and is chock-full of sensors for comprehensive data collection, including an accelerometer, altimeter, and barometer. These sensors are capable of measuring gradients, air density, and accurate power output. Measure your stats on those long, sustained climbs and compare your progress from day to day. The RF-1 can connect to any sensor — whether it’s ANT+, WiFi, or Bluetooth LE. The software allows for immediate cloud file syncing using the Google Drive application.

External characteristics include a waterproof micro USB port so you can charge your device while on the go, dual 120 lumen LED lights that ensure plenty of brightness and maximum efficiency, IP67 waterproofing for protection during those unexpected showers, and a 3000mAh battery that provides more than 12 hours of battery life. Although built on the Android 7.1 system, the RF-1 is compatible with iOS.

Crowdfunding projects feature prototypes and delivery of the finished product is not guaranteed. Learn more about the potential pitfalls of crowdfunding projects before backing any project. A $290 pledge on the company’s Kickstarter campaign page awards you the chance to receive one of the first RF-1 cycling computers, with estimated shipping in the first quarter of 2019.

This trail-tested, road ready Aventon e-bike is $200 off — We gave it 4.5 stars
Aventon Ramblas eMTB e-bike for trail and off-road rides

At the risk of repeating myself, we are rather fond of Aventon e-bikes here at Digital Trends. They tend to review favorably because of how much value they offer. Take the Ramblas eMTB e-bike, for instance. We gave it four and a half stars in our review back in August. Resident reviewer and e-bike expert, Bruce Brown, praised it for its "strong hardtail" frame, excellent mid-drive torque, strong stopping power, smooth ride experience, and competitive pricing. The latter is a real highlight, but get this, it's also on sale right now for $200 off. So, that competitive pricing is even more enticing. Normally $2,899, it's down to $2,699 thanks to a big sale, saving you $200. Check out that sale for yourself, otherwise let's discuss why this is such a great e-bike, especially if you like trail riding.

Why do we love the Aventon Ramblas eMTB e-bike in this sale?

Mod Bikes launches a BMW-inspired, limited-edition sidecar e-bike
MOD Easy Sidecar Sahara limited edition e-bike.

Mod Bikes has introduced the Mod Easy Sidecar Sahara, a limited-edition sidecar-style cargo e-bike modeled on the 1940s BMW R75 Sahara motorcycle. On November 9, 2024, Mod will exhibit the Sidecar Sahara at the Electrify Expo at the Circuit of the Americas racetrack in Austin, Texas.
Mod does sidecars

The BMW R 75 Sahara, which inspired the limited-edition e-bike, is a highly collectible motorcycle. Mod Bikes is one of the few e-bike manufacturers that sells e-bikes with sidecars in the U.S., along with other styles. The versatile Easy Sidecar models transform in just a few minutes from a sidecar e-bike to a standard, two-wheel e-bike. However, the sidecar configuration is fun for carrying pets, children, small adults, and groceries or other cargo.

Pins and Aces banner with clothing styles

Some clothing designs stand the test of time, others transcend fashion categories or groups, just like Pins & Aces. Allow me to explain. Primarily meant for golfers and athletes, Pins & Aces carries a wide variety of golf-themed gear from golf bags to unique club heads. I don't really play golf so that doesn't excite me much. Maybe it piques your interest? Anyway, what does interest me is the large collection of unique and snazzy apparel. They don't just carry polos, they also carry streetwear, hats, shorts, joggers, and even women's and youth apparel.
